Clothes of Heaven
You might think this is an odd title. It
is actually the title of one of my favorite
poems and recently, I read the words from
a totally different perspective. This is
how it reads:
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven
William Butler Yeats
Have you tried something that everyone told
you was going to fail? Do you know someone
who has undertaken something that seems impossible?
Are you a help to them in thoughts, words
and actions? So many times we criticize another
for their steps of faith when we ourselves
are afraid to take those same steps. James
tells us that there is life and death in
the tongue. Be careful what you speak about
another's dreams or vision. Instead, try
being a help. Someday you might be the one
with the dream and what you have sown, you
will reap in our own life.
Here are somethings you can do to help:
- Pray for God's Will, favor, prosperity and
protection over their vision.
- When You talk to others about the project,
ministry or undertaking, speak good things,
not evil or failure.
- Offer advice from your own knowledge. If
you know how to do something related to the
vision, let them know. There is no one more
knowledgeable than someone who has been down
the road before you.
- When it comes to someone trying to better
themselves, offer words of encouragement
and scripture. Do not remind them of their
past failures and downplay their efforts
to others. We hear so often from people speaking
evil over those who have done steroids in
the past and know that it is damaging and
hurtful.
- Help in any way possible and really make
an effort. Give your time, financial assistance
and promote the idea just as if it was your
own.
- Don't be jealous of another's success. Their
success is your success. We are all on the
same team and in our seasons, we all experience
prosperity and success. Rejoice with them.
We pray for your success this year. As a
tree planted by streams of water that you
will bear fruit in your season and that all
you set your hand to will prosper. We ask
that God ordain your every step and that
you reside under His wing of protection.
A Message
"How sweet are Your words to my taste,
Sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your
precepts I get understanding; Therefore I
hate every false way. Your word is a lamp
unto my feet and a light to my path."
Psalm 119:103 -105
