| PERFECT POSING POSE TO WIN Your job as a competitor is to impress the panel of judges. The judges are trained to vote for the competitor whose physique is closest to the "total package". It is important to understand what makes up this "total package" that everything rides on. Any bodybuilding official will tell you that the "total package" is the balance of size, symmetry and muscularity. However, there is a fourth ingredient, presentation, that should be added to that description of the total package and this is where stage presence is important. A competitor who has the best combination of size, symmetry and muscularity must still present that package to the judges correctly. Competitors can only be judged by what they actually show the judges. Poor posing can diminish a good physique. The judges cannot speculate on what a competitor would look like if he or she presented themselves in a proper way. After every contest judges are constantly urging competitors to improve their posing and presentation, especially when they have had to watch a competitor with a good physique drop one or two places because of poor presentation. |
