Salt water swimming before a show. Don't go swimming in an ocean that is salt water while you're dropping your Sodium foods and water before a Bodybuilding contest. Even if your're laying out getting a tan, don't be tempted to dive into the salt water to cool off. A pool is OK, fresh water lake or quarry but NOT the ocean. The salt will absorb very easily through the pores of your skin and right into your body and blood stream. Remember (any amount) of salt or Sodium at this point before a show can ruin it for you. I actually knew of some guys that would not even take a shower for one week before a show. They had the fear that even the water from the bath or shower absorbing into their paper thin skin would ruin that little edge of skin thickness they had over the other competitors! I never went that far. But when I showered sometimes even a few times a day I would turn the water down as cold as I could stand it after a warm water shower. What this does is shrink the skin and make it contract and wrap even tighter around your muscles. This may sound extreme but it does work , trust me.
