The Posing Tip of the Month is for your Abdominal/Thigh Pose. The focus is right on the abdominals. As you know, to really bring out your abs, you want to exhale. However, to just exhale as much as possible might not be the best move. Did you ever see when some competitors hit their abs, the abdominal wall begins to concave or sink in? I know because I use to do that all the time not realizing that I was not showing my abs in their best light. Even now I have to be careful when I’m posing. What I teach bodybuilders is to not only exhale, but also push your abs out at the same time. If you are thinking “pot belly”, it won’t happen because you are exhaling. If it is happening, don’t push so hard. I would say the concaving of the abdominal wall might be because it makes the abdominal area feel smaller or leaner. Also, if you have ever practiced an abdominal vacuum, you definitely want to exhale to the point of where your abs start to sink in. However, as in many areas of life, going by what you feel is not always the best move. So, the next time you hit that Abdominal/Thigh shot, remember, push out, then exhale, and you won’t make the same mistake I use to. Russ Testo Physique Artist http://www.russtesto.com |
