| A Message "How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path." Psalm 119:103 -105 |

Gods411 - New Contributer Jim Bushmiller shares about his background and walk with the Lord | |
| I had grown up with Christian values all
my life, but all that Jesus stuff did
not
mean much to me, until a few years
ago. My
life was just coasting along and I
did not
have much to inspire me, so instead
of looking
to Christ I looked to the world to
fulfill
my desires. I started to play around
with
weight lifting, which I was pretty
good at.
I became pretty serious into bodybuilding.
I found that the bodybuilding scene
had a
lot of sinful temptations, drugs, women,
pride, and selfishness. I was not strong
enough to resist these temptations,
so I
totally turned my back on God and entered
a life of sin. Satan was there to quickly sweep me up into his grips. Soon I found myself deep into a world of steroid use, steroid distribution, and the one thing that I am most ashamed of; after 15 years of wonderful marriage I turned my back on my wife also. I hated who I had become, but I did not know how to escape, I felt trapped by all my choices and I had to live with what I had become. My world came crashing in when my wife filed for a divorce, I could not breath, I was about to lose everything that I cared for. I fell to my knees and cried out to Jesus, I told Him that I could not take this anymore. It was amazing the feeling of peace that came over me; it was a feeling like everything was going to be OK. Jesus saved me even after I turned my back on Him and told Him to go away. It was not an easy road back, there was a lot of mending to do, and if my wife and I did not have Jesus between us, it would have never happened. I am so happy to say that we are celebrating 20 years of marriage this month. One thing that I have learned from my experience is no matter where you are in your life, no matter what you have done Jesus loves you, and He wants to forgive you. The most important thing in His life is a relationship with you. Jesus will let no sin stand in between you and Him, He loves you that much. The only thing that you need to do is ask, pretty simple huh? Your life is a journey; nothing could have prepared me for what God had planned for me next.
