HEY…..WATER BOY!!!!

Ever wondered why the “water boy” was such an important part of the team? Water is a part or an element of all living things and often is referred to as the universal biologic solvent. Only liquid ammonia is able to dissolve more substances than water.
Water in the body is in a constant state of motion, shifting between two major fluid compartments of the body and being continually lost from and taken into itself. In your normal healthy body, your water intake should match your water output.
We all know how we take water in but did you know all the ways you can lose it?


From the Kidneys, we lose -62%

From diffusion and sweat, we lose-19%

From water vapor from the lungs-13% (even in our breath)

From other body eliminations- 6%

While this miraculous liquid, we call water, is in your body it does the following:

-Provides a medium for chemical reactions

-Crucial for regulating chemical and bioelectric distributions within the cell
(explains that electrical personality you have (?))

-Transports substances such as hormones and nutrients
(rollin..rollin…rollin down the river…..)

-Aids oxygen transport from lungs to body cell

-Aids carbon dioxide transport from body cell to lungs

(this is where we ….breath in …breath out…)

-Dilutes, waters down, toxic substances and waste products delivering them safely to the kidneys and liver.

-Distributes heat around the body…to regulate your body temperature
(sort of like an automatic body thermostat)

JUST HOW MUCH WATER DO WE HAVE INSIDE OUR BODIES

GUYS-about 65% of your weight is water

GALS—about 55% of your weight is water

We literally are….waterlogged sponges….we work great as long as we have the correct amount of water…Ever tried to rip a wet sponge? Pretty tough! On the other hand…rip up on a dried up old sponge…BIG difference. WOW, Now think just how healthy are out insides if we do not have the proper amount of water!!!

Your muscles are 75% water...your adipose tissue (fat) is 10%
