| A Message "How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path." Psalm 119:103 -105 |

Mighty Men I have been thinking a lot lately about the warrior/soldier theme that this organization has taken on and began searching my concordance for soldier references other than the commonly used spiritual warrior stuff. I read over a few and two in particular stuck with me, Joel 2:7-9 and 2 Timothy 2:3,4. NKJ Joel 2:7-9. 7 They run like mighty men, They climb the wall like men of war; Every one marches in formation, and they do not brake ranks. 8 They do not push one another; Everyone marches in his own column. Though they lunge between the weapons; They are not cut down. 9 They run to and fro in the city; They run on the wall; They climb into the houses, They enter at the windows like a thief. 2 Timothy 2:3,4 3 You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ 4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he my please Him who enlisted him as a soldier. Even now, I sit here reading these scriptures and I envision a soldier in full gear, dusty, dirty, well muscled, trained, mentally equipped for all battle conditions and focused on the task at hand. God's vision for us is perfectly clear. These mighty men maneuver efficiently, swiftly, stealthily. They march in formation, not breaking ranks. they know what they were commissioned to do. they know that the others around them are not necessarily commissioned for the same duty. They don't look around making sure that everyone else is doing what they were called to do. They aren't commenting to others about a certain other soldier and what he was commissioned to do or putting their two cents in about how the job should be done. They are doing their own job, focusing on it and doing to the best of their ability. They don't push one another because they know that they are called as a group to fight, not to fight within the group. Part of their safety comes from being within the group. They aren't concerned with "civilian" affairs, only those of the battle at hand. Remember, we all signed up for a term in this Army, we did so willingly. You know what you've been commissioned to do, so get out there and do it. I say that with much love. |
