In bodybuilding we are limited by our genetics as to how big we can get (drug-free of course), how narrow our hips or joints are, if we have a wide shoulder girdle or not. Do we have long arms or legs, a short or long torso? We don’t have a choice. The few whose genetics come up with all the right parts compete and rise to the top. However, bodybuilding is not just done to compete. It is a lifestyle; a way to live. Lifting weights is just a part of it. If you don’t compete, do you stop training? No! You do it for the love of it; the challenge. Dare I say it? The addiction of it? Aren’t we addicted. Don’t you get bummed out if you don’t get your day of lifting in? Bodybuilding is a lifestyle regardless of genetics. The ability to compete and win because of a superb physique is God given, but the choice to lift is yours. Do you want to live slovenly and unhealthy, or do you want to be fit and in shape? Being fit can add years to your life. You’ll be more active in those later years, more productive . An unhealthy lifestyle will lead to health problems galore. The choice is yours.

With God, genetics plays no part. He doesn’t care what you look like. Tall, short, fat, skinny, bald or hairy. He created you. He knew you before you were born. (Jeremiah 1:5). All He wants is for you to come to Him, live for Him. Become a disciple of Jesus and spread His Word. God has "taken a gamble" on us, so to speak. He’s given us free will - a dangerous thing for we humans. He didn’t want robots serving Him. He wants His creation, us, to come to Him willingly. This is the way to show our love for Him, our submittal to Him. "God, I choose to accept Jesus into my life." Not, (in a robotic voice), "I hear and obey." What do you choose? God or the world? Remember that you cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). You can accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and have eternal life or you don’t have to and you’ll wonder where you are going and what you are doing in that hand basket. The choice is yours. Choose wisely.

We pray for those people that are not aware of your wonders, your sacrifice and your promise of salvation. Bring someone who has accepted You as Lord and Savior into their life. Let that person be an example of what it means to be saved and the promise of eternal life. That given a choice, realize that there really isn’t one. There is only one way to heaven; Through Jesus Christ. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Until next time all! Go with God and Lift that iron!
