Too many bodybuilders are trying to reinvent
rather than develop their bodies.
The dangerous
concoctions of steroidal enhancements,
implants,
liposuctions, and other unnatural
manipulations
are turning what should be a
sport of grace
and beauty into a burlesque freak
show. And
what's with all the tatoos and
piercings?
And the burnt orange tanning
lotions that
make a person look like a rusted
metal statue.
Instead of seeing the body as
a beautiful
work of art connected to an equally
interesting
person, many in the sport see
themselves
as graven images to be carved
and created
by any means other than hard
work. And in
women's bodybuilding, the added
offense of
being hooked up to the porno
and prostitution
industries are a tragic descent
from the
path and wonderful achievements
of genuine
female competitors in the sport,
such as
Bev Francis, who came in as an
athlete and
remained purely as one.
Recently I had a conversation
with a few
women who are pursuing professional
bodybuilding.
Each of them takes a concoction
of steroids
and they had also gotten breast
implants.
In order to accommodate the implants,
the
surgeons had to sever the lower
portion of
their pectoralis majors in order
to insert
the gel filled bags. From that
point on,
the two portions of their muscle
would never
connect normally again, and their
pecs could
never carry a serious load either.
Should we be surprised? Hollywood
is abundant
with graven images, some that
are unrecognizable
from their pre-induction lives.
This trend
is proliferating throughout society,
while
the voices of contention are
growing silent.
There is a professor from the
University
Of Oxford, England, Kevin Warwick,
who refers
to himself as a cyborg and is
helping to
develop microchips and other
components that
are purposed to create a "new
and improved"
composite species of man and
machine. And
as the robotics industry clanks
ahead, there
are an increasing number of "hybrids"
being developed that are expected
to replace
humans in a variety of capacities.
And that's where all of this
is headed. It
will continue until the most
monstrous graven
image of all time is set up in
the Middle
East, Israel, one that is part
machine and
part man. It is written that
"breath"
will be given to the image of
the beast,
and they've already figured out
how to make
digital components breathe. This
is the ultimate
Frankenstein, we've made it and
it will turn
on us with a vengeance; and it
won't have
a friendly side, rather it will
have an all-seeing
eye to watch everyone on earth
and force
him into slavery and worship.
It's all part of a progression,
one that
dehumanizes the human being and
turns him
into an object either to exploit
or to worship.
Once an individual is reduced
to his parts,
he becomes a thing rather than
a person.
And to a thing, one can do anything
without
a conscience, which is one reason
why there
is so much violence, blood, gore,
and brutality
in the film industry. The objectification
and exploitation of humanity
breeds contempt
for it and the destruction of
it. And the
last stage of such objectification
is to
turn everyone from a thing into
a number,
one that can be deleted at any
time for any
reason.
"Though shalt not make any
graven image,
nor bow down to worship it..."
Brethren,
what more be said? Stay natural
and rejoice
in the beauty of the body in
wholesomeness
and truth. "Let Us make
man in our own
image..." Remember whose
image you bear
and worship no one, but He who
share it with
us. If not, the results are made
known in
advance and there's no road back
once the
door shuts.
