"HYBRID CHRISTIANITY"

HYBRID CHRISTIANITY

The internet is a vast universe. On it you will find anything you can spell or suggest. Some of the content is credible, but some of it is crazy -- the problem is when the crazy so outnumbers the credible that it begins to overflow the mainstream of credibility. Thus far, public records, medical science, and home decorating are safe -- but Christianity is not; it's drowning in a sea of misinformation.

We rapidly and insidiously have entered the post-Christian age. There are now more people believing in Hybrid Christianity than those who even know, let alone believe, in fundamental Christian doctrine. Few even comprehend the basics of what is required of them, and anyone attempting to attain to the nature of Christ as we ought to aspire, is considered a weirdo, a fanatic, a lunatic. Hence, the pot is calling the kettle black.

In old testament times, it was a sin for certain garments to be woven of mixed fabrics -- linen was linen, and wool was only to be woven together with more wool. Though there was a physical reason God required this, there is also a spiritual application. Jesus said: "You cannot drink of the cup of the Lord and also of the cup of demons; you cannot eat from the table of the Lord and also from the table of demons." Also, "I'd rather that you were hot or cold, for if you are lukewarm, I shall spit you out of my mouth." Additionally, "What fellowship has light with darknesss?" Lastly, "They went out from us, because they were never really with us." Yet people are now mixing truth with falsehood on a scale impossible to turn around or redirect.

Another thing we find on the web is a cluster of future-focused scientists who are both predicting and working towards bringing about a hybrid form of creature, part robot part human, that some call a cyborg. They feel the time of the homo sapien is passing away and that the next step is a world populated by machines or partial machines. And these are world-renowned scientists.

But long before we see the mainstreaming of this objective, we find that true Christianity has been infiltrated with every kind of pagan doctrine and twisted theology possible, most of which find their ways to the forefront of the net's various search engines. And no one seems to be able to discern the difference anymore. Instead traditional Christianity is being typecast as an enemy of social progress, world unity, religious pluralism, and logical thought. And the only one allowed to speak up is some poor, stuttering, cowering "apologist."

There has never been a more deadly and dangerous spiritual time in history since God revealed himself to man on His holy hill. Christians are being divided and conquered. So many have accepted foolishness in the place of God's revelation that it is becoming impossible to weave the bridal gown out of such divergent fabrics of faith. If anything, we must continue to try to oppose it by speaking the truth in love, remaining humble, and holding fast to the Word of God, which is Christ in literal form.

This is the only defense we will have against all of these spiritual ravages -- to know the divine personhood of Jesus and to hold on for dear eternal life: "If Christ is lifted up, He shall draw all men unto Himself." For "There is no other name under heaven by which a man can be saved." Dear brethre, when you're going through a violent storm, you want to hold onto the strongest support you can find, and that power is the hand of God. Don't let go!
