| I Saw A Child By Vance Horton I saw a child the other day, as I was walking down the street. With ragged clothes, a dirty face, and no shoes on his feet. I've always wanted children, and as he passed me by. I couldn't help but notice the twinkle in his eye. He looked up at me and smiled. His eyes were deep dark blue. Excuse me sir, I heard him say, may I go home with you? A lonely old man I've been called, but people never knew, Just how much I wanted a son I could be a father to. So I smiled and said, Yes, little man, you can live with me. And I picked him up and started home, just as proud as I could be. That night as we lay sleeping, an angel came to say, God has chosen you to be the one we take away. I couldn't help but feel how sad my son would be, And then I heard the angle say my son would go with me. |
